COVID19, wildfires, hurricanes, election shenanigans... are you ready to feel better? Get ready to express yourself as you pound, pinch, squeeze and mold a perfectly harmless lump of clay into something wonderful.
Instructor Michael Favagrossa will guide you through the basics of handbuilding techniques in this project-based remote class. After collecting your materials at Fresno Ideaworks, two on-line, group class meetings will take you through preparing your work site and clay; handling the clay and building the project; and understanding the different stages of drying and firing. This short class does not include glazing, but your work will be fired and clear-coated at Ideaworks.
NOTE: This course will be taught on-line using the Microsoft Teams platform. Students in the course will receive detailed information on how to connect to the class sessions before the first meeting. In addition to a computer with a camera and microphone, students will need to have Internet access. Participants will collect their materials and drop off completed pieces for firing at Fresno Ideaworks.
This class will be limited to ten cameras and up to four pre-registered students per camera. Please register carefully: registration is $35.00, with an additional $15.00 guest fee each for up to three guests using the same camera. This class is suitable for interested older children and teens, but all minors must be enrolled with and share a camera with a parent or guardian.
The registration fee covers all materials and firing costs. This short class format does not include glazing.
